1988 • First studies.

1991 • Approval by the Council of Paris of the PAZ (area development plan) for the "Seine Rive Gauche" ZAC (mixed development zone) and appointment of SEMAPA as planner.
• Work starts on the BnF.

1992
• Initial work on roads and utilities.
• First competition for the housing units along the Seine, either side of the BnF.

1993
• International urban planning call for bids for the Austerlitz district.
• Work starts on Météor-line 14.
• Validation of the PAZ by the Council of State.

1994
• Work starts on construction of housing either side of the BnF.

1995
• International urban planning call for bids concerning the Masséna district.
• Work starts at the Avenue de France, Tolbiac district.
• Call for bids concerning Rue du Chevaleret (links between old and new districts).
• Inauguration of the BnF.

1996
• The Council of Paris changes the name of the ZAC to "Paris Rive Gauche".
Tolbiac district
• The first residents move in
• Opening of the BnF to the public.
Austerlitz district
• Completion of the Charles-de-Gaulle bridge.

1997
• The Council of Paris approves revision of the PAZ and the DUP (declaration of public utility) is obtained.
Tolbiac district
• Opening of first commercial outlet (Truffaut), Quai de la Gare.
• Opening of a day-care-centre (Rue E. Durkheim) and the Balanchine school.

1998
Tolbiac district
• Opening of Rue Neuve-Tolbiac.
• Opening of line 14 of the metro.

2000
• Start of work in the Austerlitz and Masséna districts.
• Protocol between the municipality, State and Region to create a major university hub.
• SEMAPA obtains ISO 14 001 "Environmental Management" certification.

2001
• Urban planning call for bids concerning Austerlitz Sud and the vicinity of the railway station.
• Urban planning call for bids concerning Masséna-Bruneseau.
Tolbiac district
• Work starts on the Cité de l'Image and Son MK2.
• Opening of Avenue de France between Boulevard Vincent-Auriol and Rue Neuve-Tolbiac.
Masséna Nord district
• Launch of first competition for the university buildings.

2002
Masséna Nord district
• Results of the first competitions for the university.
• Opening of the Thomas-Mann secondary school (24 classes, 1 residential centre and 1 gymnasium).

2003
• Approval by the Council of Paris of a new implementation folder for Paris Rive Gauche and a new PLU (local development plan).
Austerlitz district
• Partial opening of the Avenue Pierre-Mendès-France.
Tolbiac district
• Opening of the MK2 (14 screens, 2 restaurants, 1 bar, 3 stores).
Masséna Nord district
• Opening of the Primo-Levi school (14 classes).

2004
Austerlitz district
• Investor-architect-operator call for bids for the Magasins Généraux.
• Opening of the Avenue Pierre-Mendès-France.

Tolbiac-Chevaleret district
• International urban planning call for bids.

Masséna Nord district
• Landscape design call for bids concerning 3 public gardens adjacent to the university.

Masséna-Chevaleret district
• Opening of the Norwid gardens.
• Architectural call for bids for INALCO and BULAC.

2005
Austerlitz district
• Delivery of the Paul-Klee car park.
• Delivery of Rue Paul-Klee.
• Redevelopment of Rue Fulton.

Tolbiac-Chevaleret district
• Delivery of the extension to the Rue Charcot.
• Delivery of Rue du Chevaleret with the portion between Rue Charcot and the bridge at the end of Rue Neuve-Tolbiac redeveloped.

Masséna-Chevaleret district
• Delivery of a university clinic, student accommodation halls with 57 units and 85 units under the home ownership scheme for low income families.
• Commissioning of Rue des Grands Moulins.

2006
Tolbiac district

• Delivery of the Simone-de-Beauvoir footbridge.
• Delivery of the Josephine Baker swimming pool on the Seine.

Masséna Nord district
• First autumn term for Université Paris 7 – Denis-Diderot (Grands Moulins de Paris, Halle aux Farines, Physics UFR, Life Sciences IFR – Federative Research Institute) and for the Paris-Val-de-Seine school of architecture.
• Opening of Monoprix and Décathlon stores.
• Delivery of the "Biopark" biotechnology hub.

2007
• Masséna Nord district
• Opening of access for metro–line 14 and RER C, Avenue de France.
• Opening of Gibert Joseph bookstore

2008
Austerlitz district

•Delivery of all of Avenue Pierre Mendès France.
• Inauguration of the Chen Zhen dragon fountain.
• Masséna Nord district
• Delivery of university buildings hosting the Chemistry UFR and the Biology IFR.
• Opening of the footbridge for the garden of Grands Moulins.
• Opening of a day-care-centre with 60 cribs.
Masséna-Chevaleret district
• Work starts on language centre.

2009
Austerlitz Nord district
• The Docks en Seine opens to the public.
Masséna Nord district
• Delivery of 3 public gardens around the university.
Masséna-Chevaleret district
• Work starts on first housing units.
Massena Bruneseau District
• Start of work on the Paris Vitry passage.
• Launch of study on design of the interchange
Austerlitz – Sud district
• Work starts to cover the railway lines along Avenue Pierre Mendès France.

2010

• Delivery of language centre.

• Delivery of foundation enabling completion of the Rue Neuve-Tolbiac/Avenue de France crossroads.

2011
Massena-Chevaleret district

• Delivery of the 3rd primary school in Paris Rive Gauche.
• Avenue de France is connected up to Boulevard du Général Jean-Simon

2012
Tolbiac Chevaleret district

• Delivery of the block and public spaces on the corner of Rue Neuve-Tolbiac and Avenue de France.
